Longest-Serving Member of Norton's – Jean Norton as Both Celebrate 50 Years

Jean Norton is the team's longest-serving member and has been at the heart of the company since its beginnings. Jean founded the company in 1976 with Gary Norton and has managed the books and been a backbone of the business ever since.

From finding the original premises to driving the van and opening the bank account, Jean has played a part in virtually every stage of the company's journey. Her wealth of knowledge and experience has made her an invaluable part of Norton over the years.

Outside of work, Jean is a keen fly fisher and, as someone who likes to keep busy, there isn't much time for relaxing!

Celebrating 50 Years

2026 marks a very special milestone, as Norton reaches 50 years in business. Founded by Gary and Jean Norton in 1976, the company has grown and developed over five decades while continuing to provide engineering, manufacturing and construction sectors with fasteners and technical support.

The anniversary offers an opportunity to look back at how far the company has come, with an archive of photographs showcasing Norton's earlier premises, vehicles, and team members throughout its history.

Norton Industrial Fasteners & Engineers Supplies is based in Letchworth, Hertfordshire, where the company has been trading since 1976.

The company operates a daily van delivery service to local customers, alongside nationwide carrier delivery. Norton particularly emphasises working closely with its customers, offering considerable experience in individually tailored stock holding and comprehensive technical support.

The aim is to provide a one-stop shop for the engineering, manufacturing and construction sectors.
